Gel candle Embeds, what are they?
Basically, gel candle embeds are objects you put inside your gel candle for decoration.
An example would be a small glass seahorse.
There are many things you can use as an embed for your gel candle.

but please realize that your candle is just that. A candle, meaning there will be a time when the wick burns down to the point the flame will or may touch the embed you chose to add to your candle.

Here are some things to consider when choosing your gel candle embeds.

A gel candle burns slower and hotter then a regular paraffin or bees wax candle.

That means the flame on the wick will stay longer in one spot with a gel candle then with the other candles. A properly made 5 oz. gel candle can burn 45-55 hours easily.

So for your safety and the safety of others (if you make to give away or sell)
Do not choose something Flammable (obvious but I have seen it done. DON’T DO IT)

Do Not Use Candy as gel candle embeds.
I have seen Halloween gel candles using candy corn as the gel candle embeds.
Did you know sugar can burn after long exposure to fire?

Do not use real creatures. example, dead freeze dried seahorses or fish.
Not only can they catch on fire but even if the flame doesn’t touch them the heat can make them bloat and they will put off a very foul Oder. So it’s safe to say using dead animals as gel candle embeds is a bad idea.

There is one way to use both candy and the freeze dried creatures as embeds.
And that is to used a glass partition to keep the gel candle embeds away from the wick.
Make sure the embed can withstand high temperature.
Some figurines are not made to handle high heat and will crack or the paint will burn.

With all that said, you can still find and use gel candle embeds.

There are many Blown glass figures that are perfect for gel candles.

You can also pour sterilized sand into the bottom of your candle, add some small sterilized sea shells. (best to use ones you buy at craft stores and not the ones you gather yourself on the beach) and make yourself a cute little “ocean” gel candle.

With the use of gel candle embeds you can make a wide range of different looking gel candles that will be sure to catch your eye.
Have fun with gel candle embeds.
